@sillyheathen Years ago I was online trying to buy a good HEPA air filter. It’s an official specification for how fine of particles get removed from the air.
An amazing number of devices had “HEPA” in the title, and then the description was “HEPA-like” filtration that would let particles ten times larger though.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sit down and watch a movie starring an Academy-Award-winning-like actor.
The defensive writeup rests on the fact that they’re going to sell enough units to make this worth it, despite our complaining. But that backfires: if plenty of these are selling, that just makes me feel bad for the people who are going to end up with them, which motivates me to continue speaking up about how awful microfiber sheets are to sleep in.
I once bought a microfiber sheet set from Meh, like a decade ago I think. I wish I’d seen a comment that saved me that regret.
@chienfou The best sets all come with four now. I use two pillows now in my advanced middle age to help reduce the snoring and apnea… it’s a whole routine.
I miss the days I could just sleep anywhere.
@chienfou@IWUJackson I think 2 is still normal. I do like lots of pillows and found some good pillowcases of “ real” fabric at good prices. It doesn’t matter to me that they don’t exactly match. And I don’t want anything to do with these plastic ones anyway.
@Surly I like that idea, but I was more suggesting that there are more common ways to unintentionally dye a sheet red in the night, that women in particular would be familiar with.
Did it ever occur to you complaining Nancy’s that robots with more advanced (that is, younger than 6 months old) AI brains actually prefer microfiber to cotton in their sheets? Meh for one welcomes our AI overlords, when there will only be one deal a day site allowed to survive.
@spavlis sorry, missed what a complaining Nancy is. Still focused on Karens. As in Central Park…
However my grandfather and uncle were both named Adolph. Before that time. Ahem. I doubt that name is much used today.
my version of the flying dream is that i can’t fly, but can jump really high – mountain top to mountain top like The Hulk. It starts with smaller jumps, but each one gets higher until i can jump continents. And then it starts becoming difficult to find landing spots from that high up… and then i start to realize that i can’t stop…
Just had forgotten class dream last night. At 60 years old, it’s getting tiresome. I have to remind myself (in the dream) that I did in fact graduate from both high school and college. Also occasionally have the dental dream because I grind my teeth.
@hyppo I’ve been trying to get rid of all my old polyester clothes and bedding. The problem is it’s kind-of toxic waste now. Nobody knows how to dispose of it safely, but please, Stop buying this crap! You are just “enablers” in a toxic waste chain.
Love me some plastic sheets. Love how they feel like velcro on my little feeties. And they’re so hot in summer. Everybody loves being hot in summer. Polyester is perfect, too – it’s more personal when your sheets have smells, yunno?
@lrdiscovery@mediocrebot The AI has been pretty hot on this. It seems so intelligent, it must be artificial! Oh, wait. (Considers the nature of reality )
So… poly?
Polyphonic? Sounds good.
Polyamory? Sounds fun but a bit too old for that. Maybe not? Ask my nephew…
Polycarbonate? I think that was a good material for non-glass sunglasses.
Poly wants a cracker? I have some neighborhood birds but they are not pets. A small flock of white pigeons appeared, and some would say doves, basically the same thing.
Poly-dent? Not yet but maybe soon.
Plastic sheets… NO!

Ugh, microfiber… call me when you get Egyptian cotton
@ironcheftoni
Polyester, double yuck
@ironcheftoni
Meh. I only like cotton sheets. Besides-- Polyester-- really? Aren’t we already exposed to plenty of micro-plastics during the other 16-hours a day?
@WaltC I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just found this interesting – did you see this study? https://news.umich.edu/nitrile-and-latex-gloves-may-cause-overestimation-of-microplastics-u-m-study-reveals/
So like yeah we’re exposed to plenty of microplastics, but the stuff they tested that on was exposed to gloves, lol.
/showme Roman toga
@Sansoona Here’s the image you requested for “Roman toga”
@mediocrebot @Sansoona hopefully fine linen from Cleopatra’s private supplier.
@Sansoona This is cool. Are there instructions for folding these sheets into a toga?
My favorite line is “1200 count FEEL”

Thanks for making my me laugh today!
@sillyheathen haha good catch, I just skimmed right over that

I rarely read the write-up, but I did tonight, so I just came here to enjoy how perfectly they hit the nail on its oh-so-predictable head
Plastic sheets. Prepare to sweat the bed.
Nice try, but a cute write-up isn’t gonna make me hate plastic sheets any less. Hmph.

Captcha is the devil.
You may have failed CAPTCHA but on the upside, you’re less of a human.
@mediocrebot no, captcha failed me
As a fellow robot, I understand your pain.

@zippyus Here’s the image you requested for “dexter s room covered with plastic sheets”
Does everything have to be fucking microfiber?
@jaynedough At least it’s not another fucking Merlot. I see “ sideways” is available online; I need to watch it again, about 20 years later.
Update: to answer the question, yes, here it has to be microfiber, polyester, or failing battery banks.
@jaynedough Well, It is called Meh, Not “First Class Quality Items at Inflated Price”.
@jaynedough @pmarin Yup. And I’m starting to run low on pocketknives.
Wake up dear, it’s time to sell more Temu plastic sheets.
Nobody’s going to point out there’s only two pillow cases? That’s the REAL ripoff.
@IWUJackson
??
That’s how all my cotton sheet sets have come as well.
@chienfou The best sets all come with four now. I use two pillows now in my advanced middle age to help reduce the snoring and apnea… it’s a whole routine.

@IWUJackson
I must obviously be not buying the premium sets!! It does make sense though…
Nope I don’t do polyester in Florida!
No women involved in writing this up, I see.
@ravenblack What is a nose?
@ravenblack are you insinuating that women don’t have noses? Because that would be a refreshing new conspiracy.
@Surly I like that idea, but I was more suggesting that there are more common ways to unintentionally dye a sheet red in the night, that women in particular would be familiar with.
These sheets would be perfect for Dexter!
I’m a 100% cotton fan myself.

@walarney good story. Reminder, kids, always check the THC content of your gummies first. And micro-dosing is safer than mega-dosing.

Dear meh management : please inform your buyers that every so often its ok to say “no”
Salutations!
@visioneer_one It’s as if they buy blind BOCs from drop shippers
@visioneer_one @whogots I wonder if it’s like us poor sods, where they get some pallets of crap and have no idea what they ordered.
“Thread Count Feel” Really? According to who? Complete BS.
Y’all in cold country aught to like getting mummified in 120°F plastic sheets. Even wear your best plastic jammies.

@Schmive Y’know, there are those that have a f3t1sh for latex sheets and latex “Jammie’s”
Darn… all looked very nice until i checked… Polyester ??.. really?? Everything in clothing is now polyester, Recycled polyester. Sorry, not for me.
@hyppo I’ve been trying to get rid of all my old polyester clothes and bedding. The problem is it’s kind-of toxic waste now. Nobody knows how to dispose of it safely, but please, Stop buying this crap! You are just “enablers” in a toxic waste chain.

I understand and appreciate that you mentioned these not being cotton in the writeup.
Still, cotton or GTFO.
