@TheGreatNico The classic Moscow Mule made with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer - Kirkland Vodka (optional ) - and a twist of fresh Lime Served in a Copper mug. It’s only 6 am and I’m feeling thirsty!
@chienfou Nope, I like to drive home & get there in one piece! It still looks like a Mixed drink, But much safer! Plus I will not be visiting “Ralph” & giving him “Offering”
@Kyeh I thought so myself, & doing some pretty heavy exercising & sweating a lot. I should be. But I found out the hard way… Drinking just water or water that is flavored is NOT enough. I end up needing to go to an urgent care place as was run down & some other stuff. They found out I was dehydrated & had to get an entire bag of fluids & get my sugar balanced also! It was NOT Kool!
@mycya4me Yikes! Well, if you’re doing some pretty heavy exercising & sweating a lot THEN for sure you could need them! It’s just that I know people who drink them like regular soft drinks and they’re getting more sodium than they need.
@Kyeh as I said: nope on the doing some pretty heavy exercising & sweating… Hey I need to… I got a big belly & weight that need to be 86ed!
I do remember that I had a busy weekend, so I guess I pushed myself too much… 3 days later on Sunday after noon I was in the urgent care.
Ice water–or diet Polar orange soda. Once a summer or less, a weak gin and tonic (I don’t do it often enough to get familiar and call it a G&T) which I have a few sips of.
@andyw I can’t drink Soda/ Pop or anything that has CO2 in it. I get extremely bloated & the gas comes out the Wrong end!
I have to stick to Mocktails & dihydrogen monoxide.
@mycya4me TMI! TMI! NO that’s Ok, I can handle it. You are not missing much-most sodas I find terrible, but I like the one I mentioned. As I type this after an 18 mile bike ride, I am drinking ice water, which I had on the ride, but it lost its ice.
@andyw I am drinking more Gatorade or the like drinks I need the extra stuff they have that Tap/ water don’t have.
Well my Bike is a Trek off road. I also also rode the entire Va Creeper trail (check it out) oh they will NOT allow any Motors on the trail. Just Horses, People & Off-road bikes.
Typically my ‘drink’ is beer. Especially those days around the pool in the summer with friends. Occasionally I’ll do “loaded Landsharks” - Landshark/Mexican style lager that you drink the neck out of and throw a shot of good agave tequila in with a lime wedge.
On the other hand if we do make cocktails we most often serve some sort of rum punch which involves whatever tropical fruits (fresh pineapple, bananas, mangoes etc) and a Vitamix blender with ice and dark rum, with maybe a splash of grenadine.
Though TBH margaritas factor in occasionally.
@FritzCat@thedyom
I also LOVE making lemoncello. I used to have a Meyer lemon tree that I would harvest the lemons from to make limoncello. It is super satisfying. It got hammered by a hard frost/freeze a couple of years back and it is still recovering. I’ve had to resort to using the lemons that my wife uses for her smoothies in the morning. Have a batch in the cabinet right now and I’m waiting for the first 90 days to go by to start phase two…
Army/Navy. Named for the game, not the armed forces, except insofar as members played in the game. 1/2 oz orgeat (almond syrup), 3/4 oz lemon juice, and 2 oz gin. Pretty good.
Panache (non-hoppy lager with citrus soda), Tom (or vodka, but gin almost always beats vodka) Collins, gin w/ flavored seltzer, creme de menthe w/water or seltzer, plus most of my standard cocktails (manhattan, negroni, negroni blanco, etc.) added to water or seltzer as a flavoring.
Basically, dilute the alcohol, and the flavor I guess, with water, possibly adding carbonic acid (seltzer) so as to stay better hydrated
When I’m out I like mojitos. At home it’s my watermelon drink or hummer if I’m in the mood. Watermelon drink-Muddle watermelon, simple syrup and lime then put ounce and quarter of vodka in and shake real good. Then add ounce or two of lemonade or seltzer water either one is good.
@cbatte
I just tapped a young coconut last night. Got about 12 oz of coconut water out which we mixed with (frozen) fresh pineapple and rum in the Vitamix blender. Yummy stuff…
G&T or a moscow mule
@TheGreatNico The classic Moscow Mule made with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer - Kirkland Vodka (optional ) - and a twist of fresh Lime Served in a Copper mug. It’s only 6 am and I’m feeling thirsty!
Pineapple juice with a dash of Cheery juice Mocktail.
@mycya4me
…& splash of dark rum…cocktail.
@chienfou Nope, I like to drive home & get there in one piece! It still looks like a Mixed drink, But much safer! Plus I will not be visiting “Ralph” & giving him “Offering”
@mycya4me
Cheery juice is much better than grumpy juice.
@mycya4me
The vast majority of my cocktails are drunk at home …
Water
@tweezak I love your choice, I now need something Gatorade, I found out just drinking Just water (Well Water that is) is NOT enough!
@mycya4me Well, it is unless you’re doing some pretty heavy exercising & sweating a lot. Most people don’t really need those electrolyte supplements.
@mycya4me If you need electrolyte replacement I would recommend filtering your well water and then adding powdered Gatorade like they use on the sidelines at football games. Much more cost effective than buying bottled Gatorade.
This makes 6 gallons and costs $12.99
https://www.gatorade.com/bulk-orders/gatorade-thirst-quencher/lemon-lime-6-gallon-canister-00052000339956
Note that the $38.99 price is for 3 canisters

Usually water. At a party sometimes Bay Breeze or Tequila Sunrise.
@heartny That is the reason I do Mocktails. still looks like a Mixed drink & much safer!
Iced tea or lemonade is as ‘cocktail’ as I go.
@Tadlem43 or an Arnold Palmer…the two mixed…
Dark and Stormy. Extra spicy ginger beer.
@highonpez
Aldi sells a pretty good one.
Does beer count as a cocktail?
@mehcuda67
/showme Several people standing around a grill on a hot summer day, drinking glasses of beer with little cocktail umbrellas in them.
@mehcuda67 Here’s the image you requested for “Several people standing around a grill on a hot summer day, drinking glasses of beer with little …”
@mediocrebot Pretty much spot on. I am impressed that the sign behind them is slightly out of focus.
@mediocrebot @mehcuda67 I know everytime I have a BBQ, I bring out a chalk board and generalize about the food and drinks I serve.
@gwrankin @mehcuda67
It’s only proper.
Water
Vodka w/ flavored seltzer
I’d have to go with a gin and tonic.
@Zaprz G & T baby, we get the G at duty free, Saphire is inexpensive there.
@FritzCat @Zaprz
The Kirkland (Costco) brand gin is surprisingly tasty. BTW , so is their tequila.

Does that include ebikes?
@chienfou I am not sure you would have to check. But I doubt it! easy to find out! Just do a search on the Va Creeper trail. that is the last word!

I need to come to your house
@Star2236

whisper me your ETA…
Aperol Spritz is the way to go.
@thedyom Limoncello Spritz…better! In the process of making another batch of Limoncello…mine’s kinda strong…
@FritzCat @thedyom

It’s Negroni season, baby!
Moscow Mule
Cuba Libre

The Best drink is dihydrogen monoxide
@mycya4me But you have to watch out for the kind that’s contaminated with oxygen bihydride.
@werehatrack Bring it on by the gallons!
Iced tea from Adago
maybe a powerade Zero?
@earlyre
This is what I actually drink
Alcohol is a rarity in my life
I very rarely drink alcohol, but if I’m going to imbibe in the summertime, it’s daiquiris or Mike’s hard lemonade.
I make a mean Pina Colada. It is fantastic when I am out at the pool!
@cbatte
I just tapped a young coconut last night. Got about 12 oz of coconut water out which we mixed with (frozen) fresh pineapple and rum in the Vitamix blender. Yummy stuff…
Kentucky mule, old fashioned, frose’ in the pool on a really hot day
Tom Collins!!
Tank and tonic
Sex on the Beach in the evening
Hurricane during the day
@hchavers But what about drinks?
Frozen margarita.
A 6 hour power nap.
