No comment on this current model, but I picked up PawsPik BOSS-01 Stainless Steel Rechargeable Battery Operated Cat & Small Dog Water Fountain, 108.2-oz and can’t recommend it enough. Easy to clean, easy to charge, cheap replacement filters, and my brother has used his for over a year w/ his two cats and it still looks like new.

I needed something heavy which I thought cloud one would work but Ladybird the princess of chaos tried to take apart. She still tries to take apart the PawsPik one but I have had to bungee cord the top to the base.

If that ceramic fountain is the one with the gooseneck water spout I love that one! I don’t have it I just think it’s a nice design and love the way it looks! I have a PetSmart fountain and have used the same kind, only replacing it once in 30 years. I like that it’s got the free flowing water to promote drinking and the filters are very inexpensive! And, our previous girl Evie and guy Tuc hasn’t ever complained! Ha!
Extremely meh. Chewy used to sell these and they don’t make the filters any more. The pump doesn’t seem to strong enough to pump water through the little cloud thing. YMMV

I have reservations about a cat water fountain whose base is smaller than the top, and whose material would shatter if the bowl were knocked to the floor from bathroom vanity height. Fountains (or bowls) at floor level tend to get foul really fast around here. Your conditions may vary. We’ve tried several fountains, and our current ones have proven able to survive cat parkour across them.
@werehatrack I have finally put the water dishes in the bathtub. I have one cat who pushes those things all over the place. And tips them over. I definitely need things that are bottom heavy with a wide base.
I keep several water bowls out on my back patio for the community cats and critters.
This would drive the raccoons nuts! lol They wouldn’t be able to wash their food in it.
I had a similar one when the cats were younger that they would drink out of routinely. Never had any problem with them trying to disassemble it, push it around the floor, eat pieces of it, or dump it over. It did just fine living on the floor in our tile dining room/kitchen space. When the pump went out, I ordered a replacement pump for it, which took me a couple of days to get and then a day or two to create a solution so it would work (since it wasn’t exactly the same size). During the interim the cats gave up on the whole process. Eventually tried a whole different one which they never drank out of. Finally gave up.
Since they have a cat door with access and egress to the house on their own, there are plenty of water sources outside for them to drink out of. I see them drinking out of the goldfish pond now and then. Bottom line is I now have one less thing for the robovac to meander around.
But… YMMV

So far it’s just been out of curiosity. Bandit fell in when he was just a few months old. Apparently the goldfish pond is averse to cats. It looked like the pond spit him out faster than he fell in!
I personally don’t like this style. My mom has something similar as far as that top deck but with stainless steel for her kitten but it’s battery powered/has a motion sensor… Entirely different use case.
My current recommendation would be(after removing all the amazon tracking garbage)
Extremely simple stainless steel 2 piece. Filter is easy to deal with. Simple aquarium pump. When I clean them which they don’t need often. Because hard water I just pop it all apart and soak in hot water with some citric acid to descale. If you have city water/don’t have hard water you could just rinse it off.

We’ll probably get it, I really want to entice Tuc to drink more, and the filters aren’t too expensive. One of them is only $1 and the other is around $3 but that one doesn’t need to be changed monthly, it gets changed every 3 months, and that’s for one cat! Not bad at all!

I have never changed the mesh one I just sanitize/get the hair out. One is from 2023. The charcoal filter. I don’t change that much either
As others have observed pets never mind outside cats will drink whatever. I mostly go with the water not being stagnant. They probably don’t actually care. There’s just so much cat hair lol

Similar to instore prices. If you have more of it than you expected to sell in a store/warehouse you lower the price. Amazon Warehouses are built out every where now but there were examples back then.
Obviously if it cost more to ship to a regional city. We have regional adds. If you’re shipping to Alaska yea that’s more expensive.
But not product specific pricing in stores. And not… Hey we’ve noticed that people are shopping these products at these times and not paying attention… And if we have these tags that we can update on a whim… We can just surge price on the fly. And as long as it’s not an advertised sale. They can/will/are doing that

There is a large yellow plastic cat litter bucket (you’ve probably seen the type) just outside our greenhouse. The bucket is filled by rain or with the hose as necessary. My wife uses it to dip her little watering can in when watering plant-starts in the greenhouse that are destined for the garden.
This bucket has become our dog’s preferred drinking vessel. He will walk past proper water dishes filled with clean fresh water to drink the slimy green stuff from the bucket. Whadaya gonna do…

I LOVE those Tidy Cat buckets! I have a couple dozen around the house (yes cats drink from them on occasion). They line the side of my shop to catch rainwater for my garden. Tops go on when full to keep mosquito population down. Also get used to store plumbing parts, stray wood pieces, wood for smoker etc.
I’ve never actually used Tidy Cat but I policed up a bunch from our recycling center when they said they couldn’t recycle them years ago. I’ve also picked up a few along the side of the road that were placed out on trash days. I know some of the ones I’m using are over 10 years old and live outside 24/7 365+.

We recently received a flyer in the mail from our garbage pickup service. Apparently, it is now OK to put some kinds of plastic in the recycling bin (I suspect they were forced to take it by the state). So now there’s that option for the excess cat litter buckets.

@macromeh my dogs prefer drinking the water from (in order of preference): puddles formed by the sprinkler systems or rain, the salt water pool, the old ceramic planter that I converted into a dog dish, the plastic plant saucers containing slimy water, and lastly their main dog dish.

I didn’t realize how popular those Tidy Cat buckets were until I saw them get scooped up by lots of people when someone on our local Trash To Treasure site (just like The Buy Nothing Group/movement ) offered them. She had around 50 of them and the people went after them like vultures! It was one of the longest comment sections I’ve ever seen there with people posting all of the various uses for them. Gotta say it was pretty interesting! Or, as Martha would say “It’s a good thing”!

@macromeh yay tidycats lol. I have stacks of buckets from when it was a couple cats and they were less expensive.
Walmart litter is cheaper/boxes make good kindling for starting the brush you stacked.
The bags are also strong enough to scoop into and go in the trash without making a mess
