@icerc did you contact support? If they were actually racist/past the date… Although it with a specific product I would check that sales thread to see if others had issues.

One of the kids that our kids hung out with when they were little is in town visiting his family (down from minnesota). He reached out to us about staying at the pool house but that didn’t pan out. We offered to let him use the pool for a party for his friends, rhat he took us up on. So tonight we’re hosting a bunch of kids that my wife knew with our kids when they were little. Crazy how that works…
@Kyeh
Thanks. It went well. Ended up with about eight people here and I think it was a great neutral meeting place for them to hang out and catch up. They were super respectful of the space and brought all their own towels and food and beverages etc. It’s always hard to carve out time to visit friends when you’re visiting family because they want to monopolize your time. One of them was up visiting family from Miami so that was a bonus treat for them. They’re already talking about meeting someplace in Montgomery in October/November and keeping in contact better. It was nice to see them all reconnect. We hung out with them for a few minutes at the beginning and then came to say our good nights at the end as we were going to bed around midnight. Hint, hint … time to go! They all cleared out in the next 15 minutes or so. Wouldn’t hesitate to let them use the space again.
Oh, BTW … These “kids” were all at least in their 40s! Guess that wasn’t initially as clear as my personal perspective from this end made it to me!
@chienfou@Kyeh
It’s funny on what age you consider people kids, depending on your age yourself. I’m 43, and call people in their 20’s kids but yet you’re calling me a kid.

@chienfou@Kyeh@Star2236 I mean at this point if I have kids I’d be very near my 60s when they went to college.
Where as my parents. Had my two older sisters than me then my younger sister and baby brother all in probably 10 years.
So by 32 for Dad. 5 kids And they were already having to under pay/limit new union members in the late 1990s? We still all got to go to college via academic scholarships/pell grants dad busting his ass. I think I had at max15-20K on loans I could pay down. Going to purdue In 2004
If I had had kids at that age range never mind that pace I would be severely worried for them right now.
@chienfou@Kyeh@Star2236 just to clarify I mean it I had started at 22 I would have an 18 year old figuring out what the fuck to do no now. And I. Wouldn’t have an answer. I definitely would have limited social media and other things when they were kids. I’m grateful gen Z is seeing the shit sandwhich they are being force fed but it’s been going downhill for a half century so… WTF
@chienfou@Kyeh@Star2236@unksol
I was 41 when my youngest (of 4) was born, 63 when she graduated from college (with no debt, but I’m aware that isn’t typical).
@chienfou@Kyeh@macromeh@Star2236 but how old are they now? The age thing isn’t what concerns me. Idk if you have noticed but the world/the kids are not doing amazing. Maybe we’ll turn it around though. It’s not looking great at the moment.
@chienfou@Kyeh@Star2236@unksol
She’s still 41 years younger than me…
When I was feeling lost after my divorce, my doctor introduced me to the notion of “propinquity” (look it up). He was right. And every generation has its challenges Just got to deal with it IMHO.

My swyping is horrible when I go fast for rarely used words. I definitely have to slow down to be accurate
I don’t even know a Randy
@therealjrn @unksol maybe, but Randy knows you… I’d be careful.

/image Star Wars cantina I’ll be careful
@pmarin @therealjrn actually I do know a of a Randy from work on a previous job over 2 decades ago. He was an asshole.
I don’t like that I can now use 2 in front of decades… This is upsetting
@unksol
Could be worse… At last you are on the green side of the grass.
Birthdays are good. Collect as many as possible/practical.
@chienfou lol I like that/have not heard that particular expression for “at least you’re not dead”
@chienfou @unksol I visited a friend yesterday who I haven’t seen in 4 decades! We were both shocked at that - she didn’t believe it at first.

I think since we knew these guys as children they will always be “kids”
@chienfou @Kyeh @Star2236 My oldest is 41 and I still include her as one of the “kids”.
