@Kidsandliz@Star2236 My daughter is about to start her second week of college tomorrow. I’m still in denial. In my dumb brain she is still in 1st grade.
@capnjb@Star2236 That sounds about right (1st grade) and in her brain you likely already have one foot in the grave and are OLD OLD OLD…of course at what age old is changes over time. my then 8 year old grad kid wanted to know why I wasn’t dead yet. Her 10 year old brother said anyone over 17 (modified to over 18 when I asked him if he’d be old in 7 years) my college students (undergrad) it was 40 (they should retire to give young people a chance) to my mom, anyone 104 and above (she was 90 at the time and couldn’t believe she was old enough to have a kid my age).
So old man, get out your cane and start to hobble because according to undergrads you are old enough that you should retire. Of course I told them that would be fantastic to retire at 40 and have those still working pay for my retirement for the next 40-60 years. When can I start? That got a lot of laughter and a few horrified faces.
My kid is homeschooled. So it’s on year-round. We tried to give him a summer vacation in previous years. But he got too bored and ended up asking for schoolwork to do.
@sixthsentinel
Did that with both our kids before the turn of the century. Was an incredible experience that we wouldn’t trade for anything. Enjoy this time.
Are adults and their kids went back to school last week
I have multiple kids and need to press multiple dots. Think big. Do better.
What happened to don’t go back to school till after Labor Day?
@Star2236 Yeah I know. My grands had to be in school July 20.
