Can anyone report on how well the bag insulates without the hardcase vault? As in, about as well as a random Monopsony Online Retailer cooler backpack, or respectably close to the performance of fancy brand name coolers?
@flactivist I picked one up last time they were available through Meh. This pack has the good good extruded sealed zipper and good insulation for keeping things cold over a long timw. The inside box is pretty much useless unless you’re into rucking extra weight with your cold wares.
I previously had a Hydroflask backpack with similar design but the zipper started splitting after a few years. Yeti backpack’s folding magnet enclosure is good but wayyy too pricey. So far I’ve been happy with this pack and can wear it on my bike when transporting ice cream.
other than it is a failed kickstarter is there any information out there about what people think of this Outter Limits Gear VaultPack Cooler Backpack
and got a lot of interesting information from both woot and morning save. Found it interesting and answered a lot of my questions presuming no hallucinations from google’s default AI
@SputnikHQ Same for me! I hardly ever look at Meh, MorningSave, and SideDeal anymore once they eliminated promotion codes for free shipping. Simply not worth it! Thankfully now I do not buy stuff I don’t really need. That said, I had always found Customer Service for these affiliated websites very helpful and responsive.
I picked one of these up on Woot and it’s a regret purchase for me. It was not designed to hold cans or any particular beverage; the measurements are all over the place. The plastic flap that fold down into shelves broke almost immediately at their tiny plastic pins that seem designed to break. It’s awkward, huge, and heavy, with very little storage space inside.
No sternum or hip straps was the first warning sign for me. Who’s holding all that weight on their back without proper positioning or weight distribution?

I got one of these a previous time. It is well constructed and works well as a cooler.
But dang it is heavy, even unladen. With a bunch of cans I doubt I could have it on my back. It needs wheels.
