Some years ago some of you saved the life of a friend's cat. Yesterday at 15 he died.
9Just thought those of you who contributed to the vet bills many years ago for my friend’s cat Gizmo which saved his life would want to know that yesterday he died. He was doing poorly and it turns out he had a large tumor in this throat that was not treatable.
He was also the “christmas ornament” cat whose photo in the christmas tree I posted some years back as well.
You gave him many more good years. I saw him a year ago and while he was just starting to look a bit elderly, he was the same loving, gentle playful cat he had always been. Saving his life as some of you did gave him many more years with the family he adored and they adored him. They are devastated. He will be incredibly, greatly missed.
Thank you all again for your generosity to this kitty and family you did not know. It made a huge difference in all of their lives for many years.

And, of course…

So sorry to hear about Gizmo’s demise. Thanks for the update
@chienfou It is sad. He was so loved in that family and effectively functioned as an emotional support cat. All of us who have pets know the odds are we will outlive them, but that doesn’t make it any easier when it happens. She has one other cat who is almost as old as Gizmo was. I sure hope he lives a lot longer.
Really sorry to hear he died; I’m glad he was able to live as long as he did. What an extremely beautiful cat he was!
