@kuoh The SEWS Syndrome has reportedly hit epidemic proportions lately. Time for RFK, Jr to act! (Side issue: Did Canada enact tariffs on US Lotto tickets?)
Oh yeah you guys are funny!
That’s the ole gamblers superstition, I hear it constantly from my guy!
He’s always saying how I jinxed him and he’s gonna lose now. I’m over here like YEAH RIGHT, the numbers are going to miraculously change!
Lol
Lately, sore feet from all the walking.
Soreness isn’t something I deal with much.
But I do get a neck pain and back pain that’s been persistent since car accidents I was in as a teen and young adult.
I broke my ankle around 25 years ago and it didn’t heal properly because everybody refused to believe that it was broken. It still hurts all the time but the pain level stays constant regardless of how I move it or put weight on it, so most of the time it fades into background noise.
@brennyn
I blew out my Achilles tendon several years back and I think the ortho nicked a nerve during the repair. Have pain and stiffness in my left foot distal to the repair that is always there, but as you say is now basically background noise. Not typically even aware it’s a problem unless I think specifically about it.
@brennyn@chienfou
I fell off a roof and shattered my left heel bone into 5 pieces. The bone has healed, but five screws and a metal plate are still in place. On Sept 11 it will be 33 years - I can walk OK, but running is right out and it still hurts (to varying degrees) every day. Supportive shoes are a requirement. I just deal with it…
@brennyn@chienfou@macromeh I was never a good runner anyway (childhood asthma but it did get better). Healthy walking is very good though. And apparently much better on your knees and hips. You can also do a treadmill with incline which is good. No more than 4mph. I used to be able to sustain a 3.8 but would probably start slower now.
@earl_danger
OMG-OSH, OUCH! I had shin splints when I was a kid and at the time I thought it would be the worst pain I’d ever have to deal with. Boy oh boy how wrong I was!
Unfortunately since then I moved up to the major league as far as pain goes! At 12 years old I was diagnosed with RSD - Reflex Sympothetic Dystrophy which is now called CRPS - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It’s one of the worst and most painful things to have. It started in my right lower leg and has now traveled throughout my body! On top of that I was pretty messed up in a car accident 30 years ago when I broke both legs and ankles among many other serious injuries, a TBI that I like to THINK I’m pretty much recovered from.
Lol …and as a result of ALL of my surgeries I have lymphoedema and lipodema in my legs and torso. It sucks big time!
I know, WA WA WA… POOR ME!
Suck it up buttercup is what I say when I see someone who doesn’t even have legs to complain about. I’m actually one of the lucky ones, THAT could’ve been ME!
…and here we are today, THIS is ME and THIS is MY montra!
@Lynnerizer
You have a really good attitude about it. There’s lots of people that do sit and think poor me and that life should owe you something (and maybe it should) but sitting around in sorrow is not the way to get it. My dad had a really, really shitty life after he retired with throat cancer and all the effects it can leave but everyday he said “there’s someone worse off than me.” I admire him everyday for it.
TBT - After my accident I went through a major depression when I was in full spika body casts on and off and bed bound for almost two years. I appreciate every moment I’m not in THAT kind of emotional pain! I didn’t/couldn’t see that it would ever get any better.
Now that it has I am grateful for every day no matter how bad my physical pain is!
Kudos to your dad!
And, he’s100% correct, sadly, there’s ALWAYS someone who is worse off!
@Lynnerizer
I totally get it. I went through the same kind of depression after my work injury and I was nowhere near as cast up as you. I had to sue my work on top of it and the constant dr appointments with no one having a clue (google was my best ally) for being drs they don’t know shit. I was the one suggesting test (per google) to find out what was wrong with me. Then going through two plus years without a paycheck and having collection agencies call me every day to return have used jars of face cream, it was really hard. If I ever had to do it again I would max out every credit card I have. Being young and naive, I was actually trying to do credit card companies a favor and not max mine out. Never, ever again. I remember the Bankrupcy attorney shook his head in disbelief when he saw that I hadn’t maxed out my credit cards. What a fun time lol
I had a really sore and stiff neck so I squeezed one of these compression sleeves around it; I almost died from strangulation, but before losing consciousness I did experience an almost erotic sensation and a release of stress. Luckily a passerby, who coincidentally is an attorney, had noticed my situation and pulled the sleeve off my neck just in time. We’re to be married next month and have listed today’s meh offering on our gift registry. Also, our life plan centers on an intent to sue the compression sleeve industry, because nowhere on the care and use instructions did it mention risk of strangulation by applying the sleeve to your neck. I had settled a similar case previously regarding ironing a shirt while wearing it; that was very lucrative.
@accelerator I don’t know if that’s a good or bad story. Apparently the auto-erotic-asphyxiation is a thing, I didn’t know about. Best advice is probably dont try that.
@accelerator@chienfou@user74860313 Perhaps it was actually a misdiagnosed PITA, so probably didn’t work because the remedy was applied to the wrong area.
I don’t know if this is the best place for medical advice. But I have random jolts of pain which pass within a second. In feet or hands mostly, but it moves around. I can rub the area and it’s fine already. But the jolts can be severe for that second.
Full body soreness
Yes, because I’m over 30 and out of shape.
@Luko26 mmm, those were the days. Wait till you’re over 60.
I tore something in my shoulder years ago and just live with it.
@tweezak you also get stopped by airport security for a knot in your shoulder so tight that it looks suspicious on the scanner?
@desparate4sleep @tweezak oh that’s weird. My wife has a metal plate in her wrist and somehow gets by. Guess because she looks cute and innocent?
Loser soreness, after every big Lotto draw.
@phendrick I have sympathetic empty wallet soreness.
KuoH
@phendrick
OH NOOOOOoooo, you’ve got it all wrong… You’re supposed to pick the WINNING NUMBERS!
@Lynnerizer I do! I pick winning numbers. But then the balls somehow change as they drop.
@kuoh The SEWS Syndrome has reportedly hit epidemic proportions lately. Time for RFK, Jr to act! (Side issue: Did Canada enact tariffs on US Lotto tickets?)
@Lynnerizer @phendrick Sometimes the voice changes as well when they drop.

@Lynnerizer @phendrick Did he not teach you anything about the Heisenberg lotto principle or the Murphy’s superstition supposition?
KuoH
The discussions with my boss.
The answer varies according to which poor choices I’ve made this time.
My shoulder.
My feet hurt all the time
Life soreness. As life offers yet another feast of tiny defeats.
@f00l I’m with you. It’s my tiny feets that hurt the most

I’m fairly deep into my marathon training and right now the soreness feels suspiciously like shin splints
@earl_danger
Take care of that before it gets bad enough to affect your training too seriously!

Pain in the neck!
@user74860313
Obviously didn’t work for @accelerator
@chienfou @user74860313 Debatable. Certainly didn’t work for the intended purpose.

@chienfou @kuoh @user74860313 Funny you mentioned that. I have been referred to as both a pain in the ass and a pain in the neck.
@accelerator @kuoh @user74860313
These are sometimes suffered simultaneously by people with a cranio-rectal insertion
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@heartny I don’t know what that even is. But Salonpas are good topical pain relief in various sizes.
@heartny @pmarin Looks like a full body Salonpas placebo.

Pains in my arse! And it has its own gravitational force so there’s plenty of pains on any given day!
