A mitre saw and a rally car. Those were what I never got. But I can’t complain, one year was a Super NES! I almost melted into a puddle of rage, when momma made me turn it off because we had to drive two hours through the swamp to grandmothers house! Le sigh.
I wanted electric trains, which I eventually got. It was a Lionel set which gradually got bigger. It was never very big or extravagant and it was on one level.
When I was very young (4 or 5ish), while visiting mein pater’s showroom in the LA Furniture Mart, we went down to his secondary showroom/storage space. One of the other showrooms had a Kids RIDING ELECTRIC CAR!
I really wanted a Red Ryder BB gun when I was 9. Mom said that I wasn’t old enough. I kept thinking about it for a number of years but never brought it up again because I knew it would go nowhere.
Much later, when I was in my 30s, Mom got me one for Christmas out of nowhere. Turns out that they are as awesome as I’d imagined as a kid and I still shoot it all the time.
A large chunk of what was in the Sears catalogue.
An Electronics

Robot kits. I even asked for robot parts, motors, anything I could take apart and make something with. Nope. Never ever got anything like that.

Moon shoes and walky talky or whatever looked fun in the toysRus flyer
Much latter 30+ years later I got a RC Car Team Associate RC10 car & a RC plane too! But I bought them with my own money for me, NOT present.
