I purchased these last time and they are awesome. They travel well, charge my phone more than twice, and the integrated cord works well.
The only problem is that I plug them in when I’m traveling and forget them. So I they are easier to lose. As a matter of fact, I just purchased two replacements last week.
@heartny I got my two on April 1, which was a Wednesday. And they were $0.99 cheaper. So maybe Twofer Tuesday is over-rated?
But they do work well and I recommend these to anyone with use for a power bank with a built-in USB-C cable. I’d buy again if I needed additional (but I don’t).
Beam Power me up Scotty. Opps. My phone is old enough it uses a lightning cord. Of course I do have adaptors although I am not sure any of them are C to lightning… hmmm…
@Narwalt Yes, I do that often. It recharges itself while that is happening. And the readout shows what power it’s delivering. I gave it a good recommendation above.
I have a 65 watt power supply that looks almost identical to this. It’s heavy and it will slip out of the wall socket if you breathe near it. I’m constantly having to plug it back in and it drives me crazy. Can anyone who owns this let us know if you have issues with it sliding out of the socket?? Thanks!!
@Num1Zero I have not had that issue with mine. If you feel adventuresome, you might pull the cover off your wall outlet. Some have internal contacts that can be tweaked to hold tighter by moving them slightly toward the plug tines. Get your spouse’s permission first. You have mine, but don’t take that as medical or legal advice. (Also, metal screwdriver or pliers NOT recommended while circuits are live. Knife from plasticware set could be used. Use the thick end.)
and it will slip out of the wall socket if you breathe near it.
@Num1Zero Sounds like the contacts are worn out in that receptacle. Replacing it is a good idea, since a loose connection means a poor connection, which means heat, which is not good. Standard ones are like $1 at the home improvement store.
There are plenty of DIY guides and videos out there. Just make sure that the circuit breaker is OFF first.
@Num1Zero here’s another possible idea for your situation. they sell 1’ or otherwise short stub power extenders and if you used one maybe your heavy power supply can sit on the floor and not exert pressure on your socket. I use these several places and they’re great for creating space at the outlet and re-situating heavy power bricks
@narfcake@Num1Zero Good advice, but also seemingly not from a person that travels often. The outlets in hotel rooms are as loose as a goose in a noose.
Obviously turn off the circuit breaker first before messing with a socket.
Honestly, sockets are pretty easy to replace and if plugs are falling out of yours they are probably just worn out. They cost a couple of bucks at your local hardware store and can be replaced in 10 minutes easily. Look up videos on Youtube.
I figured “Aukey” was someone being clever with “Au” being short for Aurum, aka Gold on the periodic table. So the company is literally “Gold Key” or more metaphorically, your “golden ticket”
@SaintO i remember in the old wine site you got a golden ticket if you got a free lab-rat bottle.it was really printed on a gold ticket.
Also in Korea was a company called Goldstar. Seems nice. And Lucky. Somewhere along the way they changed to Lucky Goldstar.
This is the LG we know today. Half my stuff is LG and it’s been great.
Also some clever person came up with “life’s good!” For LG. I say Brilliant!

@chienfou@Roubiac I have a different brand of very similar device that can be charged by the USB-C port, but not by the attached cable. The question is cromulent.
These are great. I have four of them and I am going to buy two more. They plug in well and they don’t slip out of the socket. Also, you CAN charge them via their USB-C port.
I bought these the last time they were offered. They are great! Fast charging, more than enough to fully charge my phone or tablet, the ability to charge a device while the battery is charging, built in usb C so no cables to search for… I just bought 4 more!
@Schmive
I care. And I came here to say this.
Also to share that I went down a Dürer rabbithole that led to ‘Melencolia I’ and ‘Knight, Death and the Devil’. 1514 was a hell of a year, and not only for György Dózsa.
as @Zott mentioned… great little charger, but easy to forget it… left one of them on the train from Helsinki to Turku, so ordering another 2 pack to replace that one i guess! these are really nice tho.

So of course these are for sale today.
VAN GOGH! MANGO! TANGO! AWESOME!
These things are great! Sadly I’m already swimming in power banks I’d paid more than this for.
Twofer Tuesday

Looking at the fourth pic I’m assuming these can passthru charge?
As in I can use it as both a power bank and a wall charger?
@Narwalt Yes, I do that often. It recharges itself while that is happening. And the readout shows what power it’s delivering. I gave it a good recommendation above.

@Num1Zero Bought these last time and they’re great. Haven’t had any trouble with them staying seated in my kitchen outlets.
@Num1Zero The best fix is to replace the outlet, of course. But you can squeeze the prongs together a mm, in a pinch.
See what I did there?

@Num1Zero it’s time to replace the socket in your wall. Seriously.
I have to ask, do they come in Georga Red¿? What about Alabama Crimson¿?
Obviously turn off the circuit breaker first before messing with a socket.

Never change, Meh.
Be aware: cord is NOT long enough to plug into itself and create unlimited power… thought I was onto something last time…
edit: …but maybe with two…
@UpsidedownPeas you’ve discovered the one weird trick energy companies hate!
@pakopako @UpsidedownPeas Ah, but what if the power strip it’s plugged into is?

@stinks I prefer to pronounce it “awk” like in hawk or awkward.
I ordered this same deal a couple months ago through side deal I think? One of them works great! The other doesn’t work at all
@barthutt
Did you contact customer support? I’m my experience they are quite responsive to those issues …

Does anyone know if these be recharged via the attached USB-C cable, rather than the plug?
@Roubiac
yes. See below
@chienfou @Roubiac I have a different brand of very similar device that can be charged by the USB-C port, but not by the attached cable. The question is cromulent.
@chienfou @walarney Love the use of “cromulent.” It is a perfectly cromulent word!
@Roubiac @walarney
TIL: cromulent
Damn, I feel old…

Does the plug cover more than one of the duplex outlets when in use?
@chienfou
No problem

@BioBill
Thanks
practical, but oafish and unpleasant to look at. I want a beautiful battery. Pass

These are even more useful as a travel charger with a small USB C extension cord such as this:

Been happy with the 2 I bought recently.
The portrait is, Saint Jerome in His Study (most notably the iconic 1514 masterpiece by German artist Albrecht Dürer). So who cares, right?
@Schmive
I care. And I came here to say this.
Also to share that I went down a Dürer rabbithole that led to ‘Melencolia I’ and ‘Knight, Death and the Devil’. 1514 was a hell of a year, and not only for György Dózsa.
@Schmive @Skunkwad I loved their how to draw series
@Skunkwad Yes. Didn’t he he hit .408 with 55 home runs that year?
as @Zott mentioned… great little charger, but easy to forget it… left one of them on the train from Helsinki to Turku, so ordering another 2 pack to replace that one i guess! these are really nice tho.
I haven’t been around on meh much recently… glad to see still selling power banks!
I feel at home.
