Christmas and New Years breaks make it worth the effort. And it reminds me of simpler times, being younger, and really enjoying the season. I grasp at whatever nostalgia I can get.
My dad was a bid decorator of all holidays, he bought really nice decorations which I inherited. He passed away a couple of years ago and I just haven’t felt like decorating since his passing even though I know it’s a way to honor him. I do a little bit but I don’t go all out like he used to.
He had really nice hand painted decorations for just about ever season that he bought from somebody he worked with, they’re all beautiful but right now it’s just too much work to honnor my dad. I haven’t got there yet. I’m hoping next year I can bc his decorations are one of a kind and the stuff I want to put up in my house. It’s just hard right now, bc I miss him so much and this was his time of year to get into seasons.
Memorial and Independence Day. Have a massive 30’ x 50’ US flag that covers the front half of our roof we used to spread out on the roof anchored by individual 10 - 20# weights all along the edges. Haven’t done it in years since spouse banned me from climbing on the roof and he can’t since he uses a walker

Maybe. Occasionally. In a small way.
A few things for Christmas and bunnies and Peeps for Easter.
Easter and Independence Day. I have a plastic fourth of July Dog that lights up and carries a flag in her mouth.
Beat that.

Does letting the leaves stick around on the yard count as decoration?
