@ratman I have to have my orthotics custom made also due to my being totally flatfooted. Need ones that are flexible enough for my feet. Cost about $ 400+ which insurance does not cover. Luckily my wife can wear of the rack orthotics which cost less than $ 100 a pair.
I tried them in a couple pair of shoes. then I bought some shoes that have great support.
Yes I have Merrell shoes, Big soft insoles & the perfect fit right out the box. I need a Wide shoe.
I developed planter fasciitis. The pain was horrible. I lived with it for about a year hoping it would get better. I ended up going to the Good Feet store and paying their extremely high price for arch supports that were matched to my feet. After sitting there for about 45 minutes I stood up with those insoles and to my amazement there was absolutely zero pain. I couldn’t get my wallet out fast enough.
I know Good Feet doesn’t work for everyone but man, it was worth every penny to me.

After 15 years of running, I’ve been battling plantar fasciitis since February 2025 and had to give up running.
I am now under the care of a podiatrist and going through physical therapy in Tirana. My next step is a PRP injection.
@Mandamm Maybe so. All I’m saying is it worked for me and to get out of pain in an hour was worth the $$. Years later my feet are much better and I only use the insoles in certain shoes if I’m going to be wearing them all day. If I start having issues again I will consider your advice. Thank you.

To use insoles I’d have to wear shoes. Yes I put things on my feet but since they are sandals you can’t really use insoles

I finally broke down and got custom made orthotics from a podiatrist and I wish I would have done so a long time ago.
Important tip though… The custom “fitted” orthotics from places like “Good Feet” are a scam
Every insole I’ve tried has been way too soft, so even if they’re more comfortable while standing they suck to walk in.

You are much better off going to an actual Podiatrist than getting ripped off by Good Feet Store… They are ridiculously overpriced.

I have a metal plate and 5 screws in my left foot. Comfortable shoes and good insoles are a must.
I have been buying the $50 Dr. Scholls #230 after “dancing” on the gizmo at CVS. Going without lately and not noticing anything bad … yet.
