The weirdos that had this house before us carpeted every square inch. Including the kitchen and baths. We have yet to replace it and may move before we do.
@sillyheathen@tweezak Yep - and add dining rooms to the list, too. A previous house had the living room carpet continue into the dining area. Not a good arrangement with 3 small kids.
(My Doberman would come running when I’d call “Erin - vacuum!”. )
@macromeh@sillyheathen@tweezak
My dad’s house had carpet in the master bathroom growing up, I always found it gross. Reminds me of the movie Scarface. I have never heard of a kitchen having carpet, that’s just beyond disgusting. That’s just taking your love of carpet to a whole nother level.
@macromeh@sillyheathen@Star2236@tweezak My last house had off-white, smoke-stained shag carpet on the walls and ceiling of the master bedroom. The floor was a green and blue shag.
@speediedelivery
When we moved in to our house over 40 years ago it had horrid harvest gold shag carpet with visible dirty, matted trails around where the furniture had been sitting. Needless to say it was the first thing we trashed after we moved in. Underneath it was some hardwood (oak) flooring that was in pretty decent shape. That remains to this day…
@Kyeh@tweezak Nah, just trying to be cute (though probably seems more bANAL). Main bath is ceramic, other and kitchen vinyl. My dog does try to mop the kitchen floor…
Previous house did have carpeted baths but it was old and needing replacement. We went with ceramic there before we moved in.
With three fur babies, sweeping happens at least three times a day. Mopping is usually every or every other day or it becomes ridiculous.

@tweezak Kitchen Carpet?!?!? Wow, you win. My Parent’s 1970s house at least had crappy linoleum in the kitchen and bathrooms.
@tweezak carpet in kitchens and bathrooms always geeks me out.
That’s just madness!
@sillyheathen @tweezak
Especially if you’re raising boys!

That’s horrible
@macromeh @sillyheathen @speediedelivery @Star2236 Sounds like the perfect playroom for cats
Almost never. The carpets take too long to dry.
@phendrick You have a fully carpeted house too? Like @tweezak? Carpeted bathrooms & kitchen, gag.

We have cleaners that come and take care of it once a month. I’m too broken to do that shit myself.
@Pony Same (Lina the Cleana comes every other Tuesday
).
Never have.
How often do I mop the floors? Almost never.
How often do the floors get mopped? Weekly.
What is this “mop” you speak of?
“as required”
Translation, “when I drop something on the floor that will be sticky or crusty when it dries, I used Windex and paper towels to ‘mop’ that spot.”

When I see it needs it or my feet stick to the floor.
