Living room, bedroom, adult child’s room, rec room, craft area. I believe we put the tv on our bedroom dresser when we moved in thirteen years ago and have never turned it on.
Wife: That’s not the only thing that’s never been turned on in the bedroom. *rimshot
A good few years ago, as part of a re-roofing job, we put a huge TV antenna in the attic. Reception is pretty bad here, so, added a (power) amplifier close to the antenna, then, when that wasn’t enough, another a little further down the line. Dragged the cable to basement where there was already some distribution to a couple of rooms. Finally, fairly decent reception although not many channels. Best we could find was a nature show on the sex lives of koalas. Actually quite an interesting topic, but no one has watched broadcast TV since.
Got rid of cable TV few years ago. I have an entertainment ctr of TV, Blu Ray, Kodi box, Roku, Apple TV all connect to a 8 port gig it switch & HDMI switcher. Using gigbit fiber broadband,. It in it’s in The den, oh I don’t care for sports. It”s Sci’fi.
@unksol That channel what a Title that they could copyright. I stopped watching them… way too many commercials. Now I got rid of Cable TV… I don’t miss it!
@unksol Yep Warehouse 13 was good, So was Terra Nova, Firefly, Yes I also like Dark Matter. In fact most SciFi. I just don’t do Horror/ Blood/ Guts… All I have to do is watch the National News! That is scary & it is Real, unlike Horror/ Blood/ Guts movies.
A really good one is Babylon 5. I also like the Orville.
But does anyone remember Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants or even the original Lost in Space?
Living room only. I mostly use it with Apple TV to watch MLS matches. It is the second monitor on one of my PCs and also has a Chromecast, Roku and Firestick. FWIW, I got rid of cable over 20 years ago, tho I have had it for brief periods three times since then and always regretted it.
1in Family Room I rarely turn on. 1 in Bedroom, same. Main TV is in my Office where I watch whatever I can (No Cable) use an Antenna, have some streaming services, and play World of Warcraft. Hey, I’m Retired! I do what I want!
Before I left the US I had 0 TVs. The apartment I’m renting has one in the living room but I haven’t turned it on. In fact, I unplugged it to save electricity.
Living room, Master bedroom, Guest room 1, Den, Guest room 2, My bedroom… yes we have a lot of bedrooms and up to 15 people in the house at one time over holidays and celebrations. Up to 7 in one room at times (Grand Children’s bunk room). At the end of a day everyone collapses in their own bedroom and watches what they wish because if the TV is on during the day it has a children’s show playing. No one really stays up late to watch movies at this point.
There are 2 of us in the home and we have a television in the living room, den, breakfast room, studio, and the 3 bedrooms.And and extra TV we are going to put on the porch.
I have a 42" TV behind cabinet doors in the den above my wife’s desk. It almost never gets turned on unless I’m watching something (world cup for instance) during the day.
We do, however, have a projector in the same room which is used virtually nightly to watch something before bed. It projects to a 100 inch diagonal screen across from a dual recliner loveseat. Live 40 miles from the closest TV market so everything gets streamed.
Don’t watch TV anywhere else in the house, though we do have music playing virtually anytime we’re both awake and moving around.
We have TVs in the basement family room, upstairs in the master bedroom and in one guest room (formerly our son’s bedroom). No TV on the main floor, although we can watch streaming video on the computer in the office. All fed by streaming plus a rooftop antenna (with a couple dozen OTA channels).
And of course, with all of that available we only regularly watch a few channels…
We like watching movies (with popcorn, of course) so the one big set is in the living room. There is one in the bedroom that we never use except when one of us is sick in bed - so very rarely. There is one in the bonus room upstairs that the grandkids will use when they visit, but that is also a rare occurrence (we usually go to their home)
TV saves my sanity. Even if I’m not paying very much attention to the show, it is background noise that is louder then the constant noise in my ears that was caused by nearly sitting on top of 10ft speakers at a concert. This was before the warnings against loud noises damaging hearing. So TVs in the den, kitchen bedroom, and several areas in the basement. We even have two side by side so we can view tornado weather reports from 2 news stations at once. Tornadoes seem to be getting closer and closer to our location over the years.
I feel like that guy in Running Man with a pile of old TVs.
A small CRT in the attic, a portable LCD in my desk, the last of the LCDs with s-video in the dining room (buried under all the clothes I said I’d patch), two more portable CRTs in my workshop, an LCD in the basement, and a probably non-functional 4:3 LCD behind that one.
I bought my first tv from woot. Based on where I lived when. And job history. It was a Vizio 55 inch in my 2010 or 2011 for like $500. Lots of forum concern about shipping damage. It was fine and still works as far as I know it’s upstairs which would have been like the j
Kids/console area.
A well reviewed (rtings) Hisense 4K 65 inch was on sale and replaced it in 2022. For also $500
There’s still a 32 inch CRT around. That was like hey you want this for college.
Never wanted one in the bedroom. I really can’t get behind this whole “I watch stuff on my phone”
Or ticktock/shorts.
I’ll admit to watching more YouTube than I should recently but the world has gotten a little more depressing for some reason. At least it’s location limited?
I don’t have a TV in any room
Ever fewer.
No hooked up to anything televisions in the house
I just don’t bother with them
I bought two of them a few years ago planning to install them because it was an incredible black Friday thing
And then I wound up, never installing them and just giving them away
If I want video, it’s on my phone or my tablet or whatever
I think that makes me world champion in the self-indulgent category

@NapkinEater
Got to hand it to her, she sounds very tolerant…
The TV in the living room has not been on in over three years at this point. We don’t miss it.
@werehatrack Might wanna power cycle it every once in a while to make sure it’s still healthy!
We have one TV and we are fortunate to have a spare bedroom that is only used for the TV and music.

@mycya4me
I’ll forgive “Sci’fi” instead of “Sci-Fi” as an honest typo.
And at least not the absolute bastardization of the Syfy(see-fee) channel.
I’m also not still pissed about Firefly… Or Stargate Universe.
@unksol That channel what a Title that they could copyright. I stopped watching them… way too many commercials. Now I got rid of Cable TV… I don’t miss it!
@mycya4me lol I mean cable has never been here. So they tanked it a decade plus ago.
But they had some stuff. In Stargate.
Warehouse 13 didn’t need to die. They could have carried other actual sci-fi. Dark matter. Leave Sharknado to “discovery”

See https://www.nber.org/system/files/working_papers/w24882/w24882.pdf for reasons to not have a TV in the bedroom; or maybe to have one there, if you don’t like sex.
I’ve planned to mount an old 26" Sharp TV on the stationary bike in the basement for years. Maybe I’ll actually do this now that I’m retired.
1in Family Room I rarely turn on. 1 in Bedroom, same. Main TV is in my Office where I watch whatever I can (No Cable) use an Antenna, have some streaming services, and play World of Warcraft. Hey, I’m Retired! I do what I want!
I own about 50 television sets, soooo…every room?
@PooltoyWolf
Wow… You must live in a mansion!
@chienfou Nope, I just collect TVs, heh
@PooltoyWolf
So… Multiple TVs in every room. Got it.
(I actually knew you collected them, just thought it was a funny image… So many TVs …)
@chienfou @PooltoyWolf
And Mr Green, he’s so serene, he’s got a TV in every room…
@baqui63 @chienfou @PooltoyWolf

@kittykat9180
I actually always enjoyed watching television when overseas. It’s fun to see John Wayne dubbed in an old western and a contralto voice!

…Garage. Better for watching those repair tutorial videos while working on stuff than my phone screen.
