@tricityladytn Ouch. Hope your other arm still bends OK and you have the strength for lifting a beer mug. Let us know when you can again use that arm to click the Meh button. Be sure to mark your bad shoulder so they don’t get them mixed up. Good luck.
@phendrick@tricityladytn That reminds me of the poor man that had the wrong lower leg removed. Many People began showing up for surgery with Sharpie writing. NOT THIS LEG., Etc. Very say for him as he still had to lose the correct one. As a Nurse, They can and should do BETTER!!! I have seen mistakes. Errors on intake forms etc. Always read your paperwork and if you can ever request a time, no matter how early, the first case of the day will be in the Cleanest Surgical Suite. Even though they clean after cases. Good Luck. It will be worth it to have the repair done.
@phendrick@Star2236@tricityladytn I am sorry, but the first person was a MAN in Florida, named Willie King. It also happened again to a Woman Veteran. Pls don’t correct people if you don’t have your facts straight… TY
@Mandamm@phendrick@tricityladytn
Well that’s all the internet pulled up, I can’t do any better than that. Also, have the time people mistype things, just like you put “very say for him” instead of sad. How am I supposed to know that you didn’t mistype something, instead not having the correct information that the internet didn’t pull up?
@phendrick I can probably program it to show an IRK face, I just have to remember how to do it. I guess I have time to figure it out. Pictures of me an my haul would be over by the dumpster.
@heartny If it comes down to having to describe individual pixels as on or off, you can probably get Google AI or one of the others to scan an Irk image as monochrome and ask it to return the binary code to you for entering. Might have to play with the WxH resolution. That should be quicker than complete trial and error on your own. Of course, color would be more impressive if it can do that with RGB/K. And AI might be able to suggest other images for you and deliver binary or color code for them. Are GIFs possible on that mask?
No costume yet. Might not need one. I thought about answering the door as a nudist, but that might be too scary. (No kids in my neighborhood to worry about.)
Also, I’m not sure how you’d get across the idea that you’re a nudist and not just a run-of-the-mill pervert.
@phendrick Oh, they’re for handing out candy. The problem with the Mando suit is I used a welder’s grade visor for the helmet. It’s passable during the day, but at night… I can’t see shit. Heh.
Dropping a handful of candy into a 10" hole for someone who is three feet tall is like blowing up the Death Star 50 times in a row There are a lot of do-overs
@chienfou I’m reminded of the Pretender episode where Jarod is asked by the elderly lady in the hospital bed, “Are you a doctor?”. He answered, “Today I am.”
[Of course, he then correctly diagnosed her condition, which had been previously missed.]
I am going to be “The Grouchy Old Dude Who Doesn’t Do Anything To Celebrate Halloween”.
Has worked for the last decade or so since our kids grew up and moved out.
(Seriously, we live way out in the boonies (no street lights, no sidewalks) and have had exactly one trick-or-treater stop here in the last 28 years. And that was a neighbor who stopped by with her daughter on the drive into town to hit the neighborhoods.)
@macromeh I’m with you there, except there are kids in my area. I’m strongly considering playing the role of the invisible man handing out invisible candy, though I did buy a couple of bags of the regular visible ones for insurance.
I’m dressing up as wolf with my nephew but I haven’t got my costume yet. I don’t want to spend $50 on something I’m gonna wear once, I’m looking on eBay for one.
@Star2236 $50? I’m glad my wife never asks about the cost of my builds. Currently working on a few other random things. Thankfully I signed up for a lifetime subscription to ADHD™.
@capnjb
Yeah but you still wear them more than once and get a lot of enjoyment out of wearing them. Shit I’d wear that fucker for like 10 years straight after (I can only imagine) the amount of money you put into them. They’re very awesome costumes.
@Star2236 Heh, I’ve done several events as a Stormtrooper and I just have to grit my teeth when people say, ‘I like your costume’. Heh. It’s a movie accurate set of Stormtrooper armor that took about four months to build I’m just a little petty like that… lol! The Mando stuff I can let slide as I built it with the intention of just making it my own build. My pirate get-up is 100% a costume I’ve had that for a long time… my daughter’s 4th birthday party I think.
I am going as a Communist this year.
“No, brother. This is not your candy. This is OUR candy. [Takes 10%]” This is one of the perks of being the oldest. You can’t Trick-or-Treat, but you cut the middleman entirley as your younger siblings do it for you.
Years ago one of the nurses I worked with was scrambling around to put together a costume at the last minute for her seven or eight year old daughter. She ended up with:
A white T-shirt with a capital letter P sharpied onto it.
A line of dark mascara underneath her right eye.
@Star2236
Another one I heard of recently (that I must admit made me laugh), was wearing a belt with a bunch of watches on it around your waist.
You are…
Last two years work did a costume contest but there’s been no word about it this year. But so few people actually come into the office that it would be hard to do anyway. So not going to do anything this year. With so few kids coming around also not costuming for handing out the candy.
I work from home so no chance of a work halloween dress up anymore. Back when we were all in the office, we did halloween big. Each department came up with a theme that they sometimes planned months in advance. One of my department’s theme is immortalized on youtube in a very badly done video. Back when the song What Does the Fox Say was first released. I’m the cat behind the lamp.
Right after our skit an email was sent by HR reminding all of our building safety rules!
I am having shoulder replacement surgery 3 days before Halloween and won’t be able to put on a costume.
@tricityladytn Ouch. Hope your other arm still bends OK and you have the strength for lifting a beer mug. Let us know when you can again use that arm to click the Meh button. Be sure to mark your bad shoulder so they don’t get them mixed up. Good luck.

It was a women that drs removed the wrong leg and she later became a double amputee.

Maybe I’ll finally get to use the LED mask I bought from Meh two years ago, since I didn’t get to use it last year.
Actually, I bought this last year for Halloween and didn’t get to use it because my friend cancelled her party. Seems like ages ago.
@heartny Can it show an IRK face? Pictures later of you and your haul?

@phendrick
Is there a significant difference?
)
(
@macromeh Probably the amount of suntan.
https://shirt.woot.com/offers/actual-size
(Granted, parts of it may be debatable. Like the scale. Or lifelike. Or human.)
@narfcake I think I’m going to wear this shirt with my LED mask:
@heartny @narfcake I nearly resemble that remark. I’m a geeky nerd, not a weirdo. Although some people think that.
I have options. My only problem is making up my mind
@capnjb
All solid choices…
@capnjb Does it affect the candy/loot you take in?
@phendrick Oh, they’re for handing out candy. The problem with the Mando suit is I used a welder’s grade visor for the helmet. It’s passable during the day, but at night… I can’t see shit. Heh.

Don’t need a costume to watch tv in the back room with all the lights out.
Wife says I am scarry enough. No costume needed.
I’ll be at work… Dressed as a nurse…
@chienfou I’m reminded of the Pretender episode where Jarod is asked by the elderly lady in the hospital bed, “Are you a doctor?”. He answered, “Today I am.”
[Of course, he then correctly diagnosed her condition, which had been previously missed.]
@chienfou
Wolf whistle
@capnjb

@capnjb
I may see if I can’t find my old shark hat and goes as a nurse shark…

@macromeh …and they never returned because the candy they got was so stale.
@macromeh
Same here. We have never had a trick-or-treater. But don’t tell my wife. She’ll stop letting me buy candy just in case…
@macromeh I’m with you there, except there are kids in my area. I’m strongly considering playing the role of the invisible man handing out invisible candy, though I did buy a couple of bags of the regular visible ones for insurance.

Yes but you wear yours again and again.
@Star2236 It’s all about the ROI
And the wife is not a fan if I try to use them as pajamas
@capnjb @Star2236
Hey Big Boy, is that a light saber in your pocket or…
@chienfou @Star2236
Weird nurse sighting.
@capnjb
Yeah but you still wear them more than once and get a lot of enjoyment out of wearing them. Shit I’d wear that fucker for like 10 years straight after (I can only imagine) the amount of money you put into them. They’re very awesome costumes.
VAN GOGH! MANGO! TANGO! AWESOME!
@Star2236 Ummm… it’s armor not a costume. Show some respect, potty mouth.

@capnjb
SORRY!

I’ve had that for a long time… my daughter’s 4th birthday party I think.
My daughter makes themed Halloween costumes for herself and her boyfriend. This was last year’s (not sure what’s in store for this year)

@macromeh LOL. Too cool. Will be hard to top those.
@macromeh Those are fantastic!
@macromeh
That’s awesome
POKER! JOKER! NOT MEDIOCRE! AWESOME!
I am going as a Communist this year.

If you were going to make a Halloween costume from the contents of you last IRK, what would you be?
@ergomeh
That’s scary.
Slimmer (xl) body suit and a knit hat…
Not a good look for me.
@chienfou @ergomeh
From my last few irks, it would have to be a giant condom bc I got so many boxes for a while.
I’ll probably wear this (Spooky Dragon by Eduely from Mediocritee)

…(wait for it)…
Yep,
that’s right…
a black-eyed pea.
(Brilliant!)
@chienfou
I love those costumes the best. The ones that make you think.
@Star2236
Another one I heard of recently (that I must admit made me laugh), was wearing a belt with a bunch of watches on it around your waist.
You are…
yes…
a waist of time…!
@chienfou @Star2236 I think I am going to steal this. I love the idea and seems perfect for work. Off to find some fun cheap watches.

@chienfou
That’s a good one too
@speediedelivery
Thrift stores (of course) and even dollar tree might be good sources.
