This might work well as long as you can guarantee that the outlet stays in a vertical position, but if it falls on the ground I could see this being a dead short with any rain…
Plus, whatever outlet you have the (short) input line plugged into has to be weatherproof. Personally, I’d just stick with a smart plug in the weatherproof housing.

C ) fun fact, Tuya is a chinese AI company that started making white-label devices and running the Smartlife cloud service because people would pay Tuya to collect training data for their AI rather than the other way around. This is truly galaxy brain thinking and I salute them.
