@cfg83 These often use ~3 Li-Poly cells in bags t make a 3S (10.8-12.6V) battery. If one is discharged more than the others, the BMS will cut it off. You might be able to open it up, measure all the cells, and possibly manually charge the pack or the low cell if you find one
@cfg83 Interresting… I hadn’t actually pulled one apart! you should be able to get a multimeter in there and probe the cells; If you ever seek to replace them, be aware they’re probably the 25-30A ‘power’ cells instead of the high energy cells. (usually like 2000mAh vs 3200)
I actually destroyed the casing before I found out that the bottom has a nice hard plastic cover hiding the screws. If it had been a sticker, then I could have felt the cavities for the screws. It would have just slid off. Oops. Here are the battery specs :
From my POV that’s a young battery. So much for quality control. Again, I got what I paid for … another repair project, .
@cfg83 again, just two high power cells in series. I suspect a broken weld, or maybe just the bms shut down for undervoltage. Maybe it can be bootstrapped with a bench supply
I bought 2 pairs of these from Meh. One of the first two had a problematic battery. The second pair seem to work fine. Decent father’s day gift. Pretty helpful but they do get hot if you are pumping up 4 tires back to back.
I bought a pair of these during the past MehRaThon.
Been using the heck out of one of them, and the other lives a simple life as a emergency backup in the daily driver.
As stated by @caffeineguy, the hose will get hot to the touch when fully filling a flat on a car tire.

I bought one of these with a different name at a swap meet for $10. Battery was dead. I got what I paid for.

@caffeineguy Ok, that’s better than the one I got at the swap meet. I have 2 * 18650 = 7.4 volts. I may get or make a new 2 pack for it … someday.
